Dear Gurus,
When I am running the MRP with strategy group 40 the available stock is not being considered just like it happens with Strategy 11 (Gross requirement planning). The consumption mode and consumption parameters are being maintained properly also I've checked in OPPS that the Reqmts type for Indep.reqmts is maintained as VSF and the requirement class is 101, also Reqmt type of customer requirement is maintained as KSV and the requirement class is 50. Suppose in MD61 I've given the requirement for the month of June 2022 as 5000 and the stock is available as 1026 qty. and after the MRP run system is creating a planned order for 5000 qty. instead of 3974 qty. (5000-1026 = 3974).
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Rahul,
Could you Please check the Lot sizing Procedure maintained for this Material in (MRP 1).If the Lot sizing the Procedure = FX & the Fixed Lot size =5000, then there is the possibility to get the Planned Order Qty=5000
Even though the Net requirement Qty = 3974, but due to Fixed Lot Size, you can get the Planned Order for 5000 Qty Only, this is the Standard System behavior. This is not the error.
If the Lot sizing procedure = EX, as suggested in the above replies, please share the screenshots of MRP1 View & also the MD04.That will help to investigate further, in arriving the root cause of the reported issue. Hope this is clear.
Thanks & Regards : Raja
Simulated the scenario, as reported >>> System is working fine. This is the Standard behavior.

Hello Rahul,
Please check the requirement type associated with demand aligned with strategy 40 is VSF.
Also as suggested by expert above, MD04 screen shot will be helpful

Amit
