STO Configuration SLoc to SLoc

Dear MM experts,

I have configured STO configuration Sloc to sloc.

I did following configuration:

1.Define shipping data for Plant(Receiving plant)

2.Assign Delivery type and Checking rule @ Plant level(Issuing Plant)

3.Activate Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations

4.Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule According to Storage Location(Issuing Storage location)
5.Define Shipping Data for Stock Transfers Between Storage Locations(confused whether it is for Issuing SLoc or for receiving SLoc)

6.Set Up Storage-Location-Dependent Shipping Point Determination

7.Necessary initial configuration like Customer master created,NN schedule line,NLN item catergories,NL del type is done.

While testing the configuration I am bit confused as far as "Define Shipping Data for Stock Transfers Between Storage Locations" is for receiving sloc or for supplying sloc and also not sure 'Define shipping data for Plant' is for receiving plant.

If you access the customizing for shipping data, then you see a list of plants.

Each plant is just once in that list.

Hence all data that you enter in the detail are related to this plant.

On top is the customer number. This is the customer number for this plant. This customer number is used from any other plant who does a delivery to this plant.

in the lower part you see the sales area that is assigned to this plant .

This is the sales are that is used if you ship anything from this plant

Example: if you have 2 plants, 0001 and 0002, and 0002 only receives material shipped from 0001,

then you only need to enter a customer number in plant 0002

and you need to enter the sales area in plant 0001 only.

a storage location is just one level beneath the plant.

but the customizing uses the same logic and does certainly not twist it

If Business wants STO between SLoc to SLoc and not between Plant to Plant and shipment is allowed then is it mandatory to maintain following steps:

1.Define Shipping Data for Plants

2.Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule

As we have done following config:

1.Activate Stock Transfer Between Storage Locations

2.Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule According to Storage Location:Here we can mark check box for shipment and route schedule

3.Define Shipping Data for Stock Transfers Between Storage Locations

4.Set Up Storage-Location-Dependent Shipping Point Determination

The reason why am asking this question is I reffered few documents for STO configuration.In all documents

1.Define Shipping Data for Plants

2.Assign Delivery Type and Checking Rule are maintained apart from necessary storage location settings in the case of STO between Sloc to Sloc.

Kindly guide me.

Kindly consider it is Inta-Company STO between SLoc to SLoc.

I do not know to which documents you refer, you would need to give a link.

The document that you linked in your initial question is excellent and shows each step with pictures.
