Hi Gurus,

We are going to run our first payroll from 01.04.2011. Here my question is, is it required to change the start date of Basic Pay (IT008) to 01.04.2011. Or I can maintain the the history as such ie. the last pay change was on 01.04.2010.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Regards,

Rethi

hi,

need not to change the date of basic pay record,

as you said if the pay got changed on certain date then you have to change the basic pay record date.

as PDK said you can go to infotype 0003 and do the chanes to Earliiest Person. RA data, really it is not required.

it depends upon your employee data again.

mohammed

Dear Rethi as your concern is for pay changes to be made as on date for the previous period; be informed that all the objects like job.position, org units wagetype must be existed for that particular period.

for running payroll in 042011 :

yes you can run the payroll for previous year maxx till the retroactive period mentioned in payroll area(pa03>> retroactive period)

It will calculate all the previous entitlement of that wagetypes which had not been paid to the employee earlier which will reflect as a brought frwrd amount in the payslip.

so be careul whil doing any payment for the previous period.

Hi,

It is not really required to change the Infotype 0008 date. Just ensure that the payroll period maintained in your payroll area (trans code PA03) is one period before the actual payroll run.

Thanks

Hi..

You can maintain infotype 0008 record from 01.04.2010 to maintain its history ..but for that your org assignment (i.e. Hiring/Transfer Applicant data ) should exist before or on 01.04.2010.

To consider payroll calculation from 01.04.2011, maintain "Earliiest Person. RA data" as 01.04.2011 in infotype 0003 ( Payroll status) of employee.

You can use transaction code PU03 or program RPUTRBK0 also for mass changes.

Rethi:

As told by PDK you can create IT0008 which ever date is not an issue, the question is you said you want to run py from 01.

04.2011 this onwards, so pdk is rite and need not require to change IT0008 at all unless employee salary will not change after 01.04.2011 onwards till date.

only in IT0003 (Payroll status), you can restrict your payroll from 01.04.2011 period onwards in this field Earl.pers. RA date

To access IT0003, the following ways occurs.

1) Direct Tcode PU03

2) Thru PA30 enter 0003 in the IT menu and then change

3) Thru PA30, Utilities --> Change Payroll Status.

All the best.

Dear,

If you dont want to retain cross financial retro effect on payroll you can keep the field' Earliest MD Chnage" updated with the start date of current financial yeari.e 01/04/2011 or can keep it as " BLANK".

for your referance:

When you change employee data that is relevant to payroll, the system stores the earliest date from which the master data change is valid. This date can be a future date after the last payroll run.Depending on the control record status, the system automatically triggers either retroactive accounting or a repeat payroll run.

Examples

You have run payroll for an employee up to March 31. There is a change in the master data of an infotype which is relevant for payroll:The start date is 09.06.1998; the date in the Earliest master data change is set to 09.06.1998. Retroactive accounting is not performed during the next payroll run.

The start date is 04.03.1998; the date in the Earliest master data change field is set to 04.03.1998. This period is recalculated in the next payroll run.

hope it will be helpfull.......

It is not mandatory, If ur client wish to change that then you can change.
