Dear Experts,
Can you please explain the functionality behind this SSCUI 103291? Is this only to have a Global Number Range for Batches across multiple company codes? So that every company/plant will use the same number range? Or is it more than that? I am thinking about an Intercompany Scenario where one plant would produce a material with a batch number and sent it to another plant (with different company code) so that the receiving company/plant can do the goods receipt posting with the same batch number?
Request clarification before answering.
Hello!
In S/4HANA Cloud, batch management was default managed at the material level.
You can manually assign a batch number or let the system assign an internal batch number.
This SSUCI 103291 is used to define the internal batch number range (01) or external number range (02).
You can use SSCUI 103517 for configuration of the goods movement, to set up whether the system should create or check batch against movement type. It can be
- Auto-creation w/ internal number range
- Manual-creation and check external number range
- No creation
- etc.
Please refer to this help link for batch number assignment:
For your scenario, you can assign the batch number manually during goods receipt in receive plant to be consistent with the goods issued batch in the delivery plant.
