Splitting Total Cost Recognized Values from RA at the time of Settlement

Hi All,

We have a custom requirement to achieve the below:

There are 5 different heads or Cost Categories for Project Planning and Actuals

1. Labour

2. Material

3. Subcontracting

4. Other Direct Costs

5. Production Overhead

Here RA method is based on Progress Analysis of the Project and so POC is being retrieved from Project Builder and successive Progress Analysis CNE1

The requirement is after the costs are recognized based on POCX Planned Costs the Accrual/Deferral Costs are to be posted to only the below 3 cost components.

1. Material

2. Subcontracting

3. Other Direct Costs

and not to all of them based on a percentage split which will be derived for each one of the above separately. e.g. Percentage of Material 50%, Percentage of Subcon 30% and Percentage of Other Direct Cost 20%

In OKG8 Posting rules config there are line items to post to each of these Accrual/Deferral Accounts i.e. Material Accrual/Deferral Accounts, Subcon etc. based on the technical RA cost elements.

Here there is no CO-PA so during settlement the postings to the P&L and B/S accounts should be picked up from the OKG8 settings.

My question is how do we achieve this in custom? Will it work through the RA user exit KKAG0005 (Relevant for Posting Rules) or will it have to enhanced at through user exits relevant for Settlement CJ88.

Regards,

Suman Misra

If I understand you requirement, you want to apply a different POC to different costs.  You will have to use a RA User Exit to modify the POC applied to the different Line IDs.

Yes but the different Percentage Split (not POC) to be applied is not while calculating the RA (which will still the use the POC from Progress) but at the time of posting RA values during settlement as defined in OKG8. I am attaching a small sample example in the attached excel.

And to derive the Percentage Split we are building a custom table - in short while calculating RA we consider all cost categories but settlement of RA values to be posted to only 3 cost categories out of the many and hence I have set up OKG8 to post cost accrual /deferral to only the 3.

The Percentage split to be used to split the total cost accrual/deferral amount while posting the RA to FI (CJ88)

You have to modify the RA calculations so the values to be settled are correct. If you do it at settlement you have to recalculate the RA values.
