SPLITING TRANSFER ORDER POSITIONS FOR EACH STORAGE UNIT

Hello

Im customizing WM for a warehouse, and storage units are being used (not handling units). Each material has a standar quantity for this storage units in MM.

When i make a receipt movement (ex 501 movement), the TO that creates for the TR has one position for every storage unit number to be moved (this numbers are created in the same TO).

The problem is that for TOs referenced to outbound deliveries, or movement between diferent storage types, the TO that is created does not have one position for each transfer unit number to be moved; insted, the full quantitie of the material to be moved is grouped in the same position of the TO, and transfer unit numbers are asked when confirming the position.

How can i split the positions of the OT so each asks for only 1 storage unit number?

Ex. the material number is 39. Each storage unit of this material contains a quantity of '40' (as specified in the MM). The outbound delivery requieres '80' of the material. The TO that is created has 1 position with a quantitie of '80', instead of 2 positions with '40' each.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hello sdc98

sdc98I suppose that you use the bulk storage placement strategy in your storage type. Therefore, the system doesn't pick from a specific quant and doesn't provide the source storage unit to pick from. Instead it gives you the entire picking quantity and request source storage units during transfer order confirmation. That is the basic characteristic of the bulk storage type with SU-management:

One of the primary characteristics of SU-managed bulk storage is that the system does not keep a record of the exact location of a particular storage unit in a bin. Because of this, the system does not know which storage units are located in the "front" of a bin making them accessible for picking.

For stock removals, this characteristic presents a problem. Since the system does not have a record of the actual structure of the storage units in a block, it cannot recommend specific storage units for order picking.

Consequently, a stock removal is initially "neutral" as far as storage units are concerned. When you create a transfer order, there can be no reference to specific storage unit numbers, because the system cannot identify which storage units are picked until they are physically removed from a storage bin. The SU numbers that you select must then be communicated to the system when you confirm the transfer orders. Afterwards, the system can make the appropriate updates.

That is how the bulk storage works.

You can implement a custom logic of splitting a single transfer order item into multiple items with the MWMTO006 SMOD enhancement. Here you can change C_ANFML and C_ANFME to the quantity of a single storage unit. However that only makes sense if all the storage units of a material contain the same quantity.
