SOAMANAGER via SAProuter

Hello,

I'm connecting to a SAP ECC hosted on my client's network, by using a SAProuter string, in the connection details of my SAP GUI.

Transaction SOAMANAGER is not available on the ECC; I'm confident this is because it starts an external browser on my local PC, which is not in the client's network: the message is "Cannot find IP of server <hostname.local>" (rough translation)

Is there a way to connect to SOAMANAGER, without actually going to my customer location and use their network? Maybe something I can tell the Basis guys to configure on the SAProuter?

Thanks in advance

  • 1. Server Name resolution - quick local hosts(C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc) entry SAP server name and IP address. <-- you're currently stuck here.
  • 2. Port should be open - check the SAP Router, if routtab P is already there with port. Check the SMICM ports.

Also consider DMZ(network VPN/NAT/PAT/Proxy/WD) if applicable. HTTPS may gives you local cert error, but can be ignored.
