service purchase requisition material group

Hi,

when i create service master record i mention material group in that, but when i go to service purchase requisition in item overview the system is asking to maintain material group. i need the system to take material group automatically when i choose item category D in purchase requisition for service

kindly tell me how to do that

Hi,

For Service PR or PO, you need to activate material group by entering material group for service in Default Material Group at Item Level in t.code: ML91

Now create PR or PO, you will have default material group.

Hi,

Services can have different material groups, therefore you can change the material group at service level. The material group in service line can be different and always takes higher priority from the material group at the item level. You can set the default material group for the service by making config settings in spro. This is unique to all services in that client. Thanking you.

you are doing the service with material or with out material .

item category D only used with out material how can you use with material.

can you confirm once.

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS THAT WHEN I SELECT ITEM CATEGORY AS D THEN THE SYSTEM SHOULD SELECT MATERIAL GROUP AS DEFAULT

HI Suresh,

this is possible if you are using the Service Master in the PO and in the Service Master you have already maintained the Material Group.

Hi Suresh,

There may be many services in one PR item. Each services may have diferent material group. So it is not possible to

automatically determine the material group for all services in PR item level. It will only determine for each service line once the

service master is entered in Services tab.

Hi,

Go to ML98 and check if your Purchasing Orgn is showing or not, if not make an entry and save, then double click on your Purch Org and enter Default Material group and item level and save. This will default the required material group in PR/PO

If you want @ client level do the same in trxn ML91
