Serial number profiles differ

Hello experts,

I have one material with serail no profile & other is without serial number profile.

we are required to do 309 movement from serialised material to non-serialised material.

System is reflecting error as mentioned below.

"You want to carry out a transfer posting for materials with serial number management. However, the serial number profiles of the receiving and issuing points are not identical."

Is there any way that we can do conversion of material from Serialized to non-Serialized.

Hi Abhishek

If this is for the same material like let say material X (non serialized) has got stock in 1000 storage location and now if you want transfer this same in other place like 1020 storage location.

you can simply assign your profile in material master and use 309 in MB1B it will ask for serial number

while posting.

and keep ur usage as obligatory in ur profile.

If your doubt is different please explain your scenario .

Hi,

While doing transfer posting from One Material to another through Movement Type 309, system says that the Serial No Profile is different and Goods Movement is not possible.

Please suggest.

Hi Abhi,

Can you please check the serial number profile that is assigned in the material master in the T-code OIS2 and check whether the serializing procedure for the particular business transaction have it's serial usage as obligatory or automatic.

You need to maintain as optional.

Thanks for response.

In OIS2 we are using procd MMSL Maintain goods receipt and issue doc. with Serial Number Usage as "OPTIONAL" for the profile required in material master.

I require MB1B - Transfer posting (mv type 309 material to material xfr). What needs to be done for this so that it should not dipaly error of serial profile mismatch.

Did you get any solution for the requirement.

As i am also required to do stock transfer from a Material which is non-serialized to a Material which is serialized.
