Serial Number Length

Hi MM Gurus,

Need a clarification on serial number maintanance.

The maximum length of the serial number is 18 digits.

We are receiving items with 20 and 22 digits.

Is it possible to extend the length of the serial number?

We are using SAP version ECC 5.0.

can't change the length of more than 18.

this is SAP Standard length.

OMSL_DI Material Length

But its for sure you can not increase the length from 18 to any more. If you want to change then you need to ask SAP for key or need to raise ticket with SAP

hi

in this case you can use external serial number with your own codification

i.e number can be eneterd manually by deciding serial no. code w.r.t original serial no.
