Hi Gurus,

I have one issue

We have maintained batch management for material.

In material master we have maintained total self life as 20 months. We are entering production date at GR, but system calculating expiring date as 21 months by default. Its calculating one month extra as expiring date.

How can I solve this problem , system to calculate correct expiring date?

Plz help me

Thanks

Ramesh

Give details, tell the date you entered as production date and tell the expiration date, only then we can evaluate

against what reference document do you post the receipt?

was there a change of total shelf life between creation of the reference document and goods receipt?

With respect to PO number only will do GR. No change of Self life.

are you creating new batch with the receipt or did you add to existing batch?

Adding already existing batch.

It is design that the shelf life date of an existing batch is not overwritten

Just imagine you buy a yogurt with vendors batch #2305 which has a expiration date of January 1st.

a week later you buy again yogurt which has the same vendor batch #2305. Just because you bought it a week later it does not mean that it is usable for one more week.

This is one of the main reasons why a material is managed in batches , same vendor batch goes to the same of your batches, different vendor batch goes to new batch in your system. SAme batch means same characteristic, same quality, usually no need to analyze it again.
