selection condition based on range of date values of a characteristic.

I created a date type characteristic NEWDATE and defined two interval values (01/01/2024 to 01/31/2024 and 02/01/2024 to 01/29/2024)

I wanted to make a selection condition on the basis of  range of date values for this characteristic. 

NEWDATE > 01/31/2024 AND NEWDATE <02/21/2024

In simulation this condition doesnt work. 

Where as if I use single condition like NEWDATE > 01/31/2024 alone, results are as expected. 

I tried numeric values of date as well but no success. 

I request SAP gurus to guide me.
