I have not seen any information on automatically changing an employee to post tax (Roth) catch up contributions if they are over the $145k limit. Did SAP decide to be lazy and put this responsibility on the customer?
I am also having the same issue. The note you referanced does not contain an option to have the excess pre-tax automatically roll over to post-tax. Looks like SAP didn't finish the coding.

As it is necessary to have different configuration for pos-tax and pre-tax plans in the benefits tables, it is not possible for the same plan to converted from pre-tax to post-tax. That said, as it would be necessary to have two different plans and there can exists multiple plans configured in an environment, currently there is no way to know which of the existing plans available in the system should be used for an employee, preventing an automatically plan selection.
