Hello,
I am looking for two-pronged support:
1. I am currently trying to get schedule margin keys implemented in an effort to drive material requirements ahead of planned need (based on existing IHPT), without using either GR processing time or increasing IHPTs. I have schedule margin keys configured to add 20 days (separately) to opening period, float after production, float before production, and release period. I have configured materials with the different SMKs (except float after production), but none are driving changes to the component requirement dates. Does anyone have an idea as to what may be preventing the SMKs from driving different material requirement dates?
2. If my understanding of SMKs is incorrect and they cannot be configured to drive early material requirements without changing IHPTs, what other methods exist to accomplish this end goal? I understand you can apply individual component lead time offsets, but the bills of materials I have are long and I have a lot of final assembly materials so it's an extensive effort. I have also looked at applying safety time but, again, it didn't seem to work similarly to the SMKs.
Thank you.

Hello @Carpe324 , I could get something from your question, basically SCM is used to have some cushioning period before and after production by considering the shopfloor capacity constraint also it will help us to ensure commitment to customer for online dispatch. Also, you can have opening and release period for more flexible.
