Schedule lines and Prod Order

Dear all,

Our customer is integrating an external system to plan the production orders created in S/4 HANA Cloud under a MTO strategy. The sales orders contain schedule lines. We need to inform the external scheduler about the schedule line date for each production order created, but i have realized there's no link beteween the schedule line and the prod order. i have read this is the SA standard way of working. is the same in S/4 HAna Cloud or there's any improvement for that? any idea of a workaround to be able to send this info to the external system and get a proper scheduling?

Thanks,

Marta

Hello ricard.carreras/Marta.

How are you? In this case, the behavior of SAP S/4HANA Cloud application is right, due to the Different Dates. However, the Production Orders will refer to the same Sales Order Item if these 100 Pieces are in the Sales Order Item 10, for example, as the Production Order refers only to the Sales Order and Sales Order Item.

A workaround should be to have a Sales Order Item 10 for the Product with 75 Pieces and Sales Order 20 for the same Product with 25 Pieces. Then the Production Orders will refer to the same Sales Order, bu to different Sales Order Items.

Regards.

Hi Juliano,

As this is the standard way of working we might go through the workaround you already mentioned to be able to have this link.

Best regards,

Marta

Hi Juliano,

we can't use schedule agreements due to some constraints in their standard behaviour, so i mean the schedule lines used in normal sales order. Instead of having just one delivery date for one sales order / item you can have several ones with different quantities in each one .

For instance, I have the following sales order 251/10 for mat FG228 and 100 PI. Then I create some schedule lines inside the sales order:

schedule line 010 -> required date 01/04/2021 -> 25 PI

schedule line 20 -> required date 01/05/2021 -> 75 PI

the system will create two different plan order , one for each schedule line with different production dates . Once those plan orders are converted into prod orders, there's no way to get the link between those production order and the schedule line they have been created for.

The external scheduler is an on-premise non-SAP(MES) legacy system.

Let me know if you have further questions,

Marta

Hello arcrid_sap.

How are you? The only direct link of Production Orders are with Sales Orders (From Demand Side) and with Reservations (From Requirement Side). What do you mean as Schedule Lines? Are they the Schedule Agreements? Could you please clarify if the External Scheduler is a APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) Application?
