SAP Variant Configuration alternative bom selection

Hello SAP Gurus,

I'm new to Variant configuration

I have a requirement in variant configuration where one of the component has two alternative BOM's.

Now, based on the selected value of a characteristic (header material) the system should pick up the right alternative BOM for the component material.

Is this possible ? If possible then please provide the object dependency code or syntax as an example.
