Hi Experts!
I have a question regarding the SAM x GIS integration. i understand that the feature layers is created in GIS and appears on SAM. But is there some integration of SAP x GIS that we input the coordinates in GIS of some equipments that already are created in SAP but without location, and we can visualize in SAM Map the equipment?
Or the integration SAM and GIS is just for the feature layers and for SAP business Object we can just create in SAM Map?

Request clarification before answering.
Technical objects are linked between SSAM and GIS based on a mapping table if not using SAP Geo Enablement Framework on S4. For technical Objects you will need to upload/maintain the spacial ID to Technical object number.
Mapping can be handled using standard mapping table '/SMFND/OID01_GS', utility program '/SMFND/GIS_OIDMAP_UPLOAD_PROG' is provided to allow managing the mapping table using a tab delimited text file.
For Orders and Notifications this can also be done or configure a feature to take the Geo coordinates from the the Tech object assigned to the Order / Notification header.
At runtime SSAM int he backend (MAIF) will look at this table for the current users objects and request the Coordinates from GIS based on the Spacial ID's. then will send these responses to the Mobile app for plotting on the device Map.
If using GEF, this logic changes slightly as we can now get this info from Inside SAP S/4 and don't need the call to ESRI ArchGIS any more.
You can find all the config details int eh help doc: Geospatial Service Definitions | SAP Help Portal

Hi @james_murphy01! Thanks for the information. I would like to know if this mapping table is also available for SAP ECC and what is the Business Function to activate?
Best regards
Rafael Eij Umeda
Yes, this is available on ECC systems that have the Mobile Addon installed.
Table: /SMFND/OID01_GS
1982598 - GIS Integration Support for Mobile AddOn - SAP for Me
program /SMFND/GIS_OIDMAP_UPLOAD_PROG
Thanks @james_murphy01 ! And just to confirm but the use of SSAM maps with GIS is possible with SAP ECC too, right? Is there a limitation when using SAP ECC?
Hi @james_murphy01 !
After the sincronization of input of globalID in the mapping table, the geometry and icons of objects in GIS will reflect as the same geometry and icon in SSAM Map?
For example, if a equipment in GIS is a circle, then after sincronization, in SSAM the equipment will be a circle too?
Best Regards,
Rafael Eij Umeda
After the Mapping of the technical objects int he mapping table. During a sync SSAM backend component MAIF will call the GIS system with the provided spacial ID's to get the Co-ordinates for each relevant object. This will then be sent to the mobile app.
SSAM does not use Icons from GIS. SSAM By default uses its own Icons.
If needed these can be changed in the client branding. But they are not synced with the GIS icons.
So After syncing you will see the Objects which have Co-ordinates on the SSAM Maps. By default with the OoB SSAM Icons.
Hi @james_murphy01 ! But after the Sync, the Object of Feature layer and Business Layer will have the same geometry or icon?
