SAP S/4 Public cloud - Service - ATP check on service quotation

Dear Experts,

I have a question : I made workshop with my customer in order to implement S/4 public cloud Service module. In the SAP training course S4C25, in the unit 4GA for service quotation, lesson "Explaining the Service Quotation Process Steps", a paragraph explains the ATP logic. It sounds good for my customer requirement. Great !

When I check in the system :

1. I can't find the service quotation item category in CBC in order to activate ATP check, I can only see service order item category. And I'm not able to add new entries... I am in the customizing activity mentionned by the training course.

2. When I look into the service quotation I can't see where can I find the ATP information : quantity confirmed, date confirmed...

3. I checked the service order in order then to compare with service quotation : and in the service order, the first step is to filter the nature of the service order item : Service part items, and then I am able to click on the button "Check availability" and find the information in the item tab. I have nothing similar in service quotation (no filter for item...), or no information in the items details page.

In the help portal I can't find any information about the ATP for service quotation. I can find informations only for service order ATP.

Can you explain me how does it work, please? Did I missed something ? wthat is the standard process proposed by SAP in this case (step by step) ? or is it in the road map ?

Thank you very much for your help.

PS : I also expect this functionnality in the repair in house quotation.

Hello,

ATP (Available to Promise) check functionality is currently not supported for service quotations in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.

The standard process proposed by SAP for handling service quotations in S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition is as follows:

  1. Create the service quotation manually without ATP check.
  2. If needed, check availability manually while creating the quotation as a workaround.
  3. Once the quotation is accepted, create a service order.
  4. Perform the ATP check in the resulting service order, where the functionality is fully supported.

Regarding future enhancements:

  • The specific roadmap for adding ATP functionality to service quotations is not planned.

For now, the recommended approach is to use the manual availability check as a workaround when creating service quotations, and then utilize the full ATP functionality once the quotation is converted to a service order.

Typically you do not want that Quotations already hard-book quantities in your MRP logic, because probability that a quotation gets an actual order is below 100% and you don’t take such commitments just because you are offering a service to a customer.

If the quotation would already get confirmed ATP quantities, it would take away the stock for potential service orders that get in the system second later.

It follows the same principle as with regular Sales Quotations, also these business objects won’t reserve quantities unless they are taken over into an actual Sales Order.
