SAP - Release Management / Change Management

Hello,

On a SAP HCM Project- what role / person is responsible for analyzing the risk/ change of break /fix or new functionality will have on the system?

Is this the same role / person that is responsible for "Release" schedules / activity? I am needing to understand "Release Management"'s role on  SAP projects. Specifically as it relates to our team the payroll team. What is the Release Manager's role on a day to day basis?

Hi Trina,

Release Manager is one who owns any risk of any new functionality or any bug/break fix that relates to multiple customers may be because same functionality is being used by multiple customers and may have impact for each of them although reported by one or few.

Release Manager holds responsibility for delivery and constitutes team of developers who do bug/break fix, trobleshott them as well, team of testers who test the bug fix and technical/functional SME who runs end to end functionality before delivery to see if it fulfils the purpose and does not impact other related functionalities.
