SAP Public Cloud Transportation Management

Hi all — I understand that SAP Public Cloud TM doesn’t support third-party sales order processing scope items. I’m trying to find a workaround and attempted to create a freight document via the inbound delivery linked to the 3rd party purchase order. However, the system is not generating the freight document.

Has anyone encountered this scenario before? If so, please share your insights.

Good day @partha2day

Thank you for your question

To summarise, TM in public cloud is designed to plan and execute transports that are part of your own logistics network and not pure vendor-to-customer drop shipments. That means, the inbound delivery you used in your workaround is not treated as TM-relevant for freight-unit building in this process, therefore leading to the system not creating any freight document. So, this is not an error but a pure system design.

The public cloud does not provide any switch or SSCUI that helps you add 3rd-party inbound deliveries to the freight-unit building framework.

Best practice is for you to:

  1. Use manually created standalone freight orders in TM or through custom integration and link them through references to your 3rd-party PO/sales order, or
  2. Keep the pure 3rd-party drop shipments outside TM, whilst you handle freight through purchasing or external tools.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Best regards
