Hello,

Thank you very much for your question and sorry for the late reply.

Can you please check whether the following information (GenAI was used to help generate this content) solves your issue?

Integrating SAP S/4HANA Cloud (S4HPC) with third-party Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) involves several key processes, especially when Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) is in use. Here is an overview of how handling units are created and how goods receipt and consumption are managed:

Handling Units Creation and Goods Receipt

Handling units are integral to various logistical processes, Handling Units in Cloud Processes including production and warehouse management. In the context of S4HPC and MES integration:

  • Production Process: Handling units are created during the production process. The raw materials required for production are reserved and, if necessary, procured through purchase orders.
  • Goods Receipt: Once production is completed, the handling units are packed and confirmed as realized. The goods receipt is posted after verification from production.

Consumption and Process Order Confirmation

For consumption, the process order confirmation API can be used. This API facilitates the confirmation of production orders, ensuring that the consumption of materials is accurately recorded.

Interfaces and APIs

The integration with MES systems can leverage various APIs and interfaces:

  • Production Order Confirmation API: Used for confirming production orders and recording consumption.
  • Handling Unit Management: Handling units are managed through specific APIs that allow for their creation, modification, and tracking.

For more detailed information on the integration processes and the specific APIs involved, you may refer to the SAP documentation and community resources.
