SAP Project System for ETO project scenario

Hello SAP experts,

I'm studying for a future implementation the ETO scenario for complex projects using project system. I've read many sap materials from community, help portal and so on but i have still some doubts about the process, specifically the end of the process. I will use the sap standard example of the assembly of a turbine.

I have understood the initial processes of activities scheduling, purchasing of external materials, internal production. Now my doubts are about the last step of the process, the final assembly of the product.

The example of the turbine states that: "In this process it is presumed that the turbine is assembled in the plant."    So I would expect that either:

• The turbine gets producted by a production order in sap PP.
• The turbine gets producted by a network activity with a negative requirement (if we do not have/want PP master data such as routing, BOM and so on)

Otherwise i would expect that we should do deliveries from project to the customer's site for the assemblies required by turbine, and having an activity for assembling them at customer site (without tracking the material quantity flow in the system).

None of these is mentioned here, and also in other sap materials I have never understood this last part of the ETO process. 

Am I missing something about how the system should track these last activities of the process?
