SAP PM – Single Cycle Plan Behavior with Late Completion & Shift Factors

Hi experts,
I need guidance on setting up a single cycle maintenance plan in SAP with the following parameters:

• Start Date: 01.01.2020
• Cycle Frequency: 1 year
• Shift Factor: 100%
• Tolerance: 0%
• Completion Required: Checked
• Call Horizon: Not maintained

Scenario:
The first order was generated on 01.01.2021 but could not be completed on time. It was finally completed on 02.12.2025.

Questions:

1. When will the next order be called and what will be its planned date?

   • Will it be delayed by 4 years (due to late completion)?
   • Or will it still be generated as per the original schedule on 01.01.2026?

2. Is it possible to configure the plan so that the next work order is called 1 year from the actual completion date of the previous order (i.e., 02.12.2025), rather than sticking to the original schedule?

Any insights or best practices would be greatly appreciated!

Here you go:

1. When will the next order be called and what will be its planned date?

   • Will it be delayed by 4 years (due to late completion)?
   • Or will it still be generated as per the original schedule on 01.01.2026

Answer: Order will be generated on 02.12.2026. 1 year will be added to 02.12.2025.

2. Is it possible to configure the plan so that the next work order is called 1 year from the actual completion date of the previous order (i.e., 02.12.2025), rather than sticking to the original schedule?

Answer. Yes, it will work in the above manner. If you are facing any problem then please share screenshots.
