Hello everyone,
We are planning to migrate from ECC (EHP8) application to S/4 HANA. And we have SAP PI/PO system integrated with ECC. So we are in doubt whether to migrate our SAP PI/PO application from MS SQL Server database to HANA database. As far as I know, unlike ECC or BW, we don't have huge demand for transactions or reports which are usually time-consuming or data-intensive in PI/PO. All PI objects are always in the runtime cache. In production environments, we archive messages frequently. So if we migrate PI/PO database from any DB (MS SQL DB) to HANA DB I don't think it will make much difference. So can anyone please suggest our ideas.
Thanks,
Praveen

For the write to the database (persist pipeline step, monitoring data) you won't gain huge performance improvement. But I guess opening the monitoring transaction, especially if you are keeping more data in database persist could be quicker. But take into account, that SAP PI/PO runs out of maintenance in 2027 - so better to invest into replacement (e.g. to integration suite). Also please consider, DB needs to be licensed and usually SAP doesn't convert Oracle license in Hana licenses.
