SAP HCM P&F (Processes & Forms) - IT2001 collision check results in error

Would really appreciate your help with below question.

We are trying to create Illness process to register illness and partial recovery.

Step 1 : Start process & fill data. As a result this record is create in backend with correct start & enddate

Step 2 : Start process to enter new illness period with new startdate and employmentpercentage filled.

When employee is partially recovered the start date is updated. This should result in creation of new record & delimitation of old record (according to settings in collision table). In the backend we receive pop-up where you should accept the collision, in the portal environment however the HR admin receives an errormessage HRTIM00COLL / 008 (Collision with another time entry).

I tried to overrule this message in message mapping option in IMG for HCM P&F but this resulted in error to contact system administrator.

I hope there are some experts in the HCM P&F form that have already solved similar problems..

Thanks in advance, Martine

I created OSS message for customer and received the following reply:

Your message has been forwarded to the Time Management component. The standard leave request application uses the TMW framework for creation and validation of leave records. The automatic delimiting is not part of the TMW concept, which is the reason for the described difference between PA30 and PTMW collision checks (leave request). TMW uses the same settings as the classic programs, but TMW is not able to delimit time data. Therefore reaction 'A' is not valid and is changed to 'E' (error) internally in TMW. Reactions 'E'(error), 'W'(warning) an 'N'(no reaction) stay the same as in PA30.

It is also described in the attached note 447097 point 5.b): "(...) A further processing of the conflicting time specifications and in particular the automatic delimitation are not possible in TMW." Please also have a look at the attached note 1370678.

Hope I was able to explain the functionality of how TMW framework works and used in leave request application.

I'm currenlty looking into workaround. Will keep you updated.

Hello Nachy,

Workaround we are planning to implement is to use two seperate backend services for IT2001:

First one to be used to change enddate of existing record

Second one to create new record with new startdate

This seems necessary since we can't do two seperate updates on one IT in one backend service.

Will update this message after we have implemented the workaround.
