SAP GTS Version retrieve

Hi,

Good Day.

We are using the latest version of SAP GTS with the EHP8 upgrade, but by mistake, some transports from the development environment, which were created before the EHP8 version, were imported into the quality environment. As a result, these transports have overwritten the EHP8 version when checking the version management of certain objects. Is there a way to restore the EHP8 version as the active version again?

Hi Shubh,

Once again you have to collect the changes in the development system. and import those change requests in the quality system by overwrite option so that your version management will be synced.

I got it, Sriram. While transport requests are fine, the core question remains: How can we restore the EHP8 version as the active version in the Quality environment? Since we cannot transport the EHP8 version as a transport request, what would be the best approach to achieve this?

Hi shubh create a workbench request or transport of copies request in DEV system which is already on EHP8 and add all the effected objects in Quality to this request and import this request in Quality system. Post import remove it from the transport queue to ensure that this request does not move to the subsequent systems.

Hi imaad, thanks for your reply. The issue is that there are many objects involved, and it's difficult to manage them all. Is there any other way we can restore the EHP8 version as the active version in Quality?

you must need to have the list of all objects changed by the import of the request you wrongly imported from dev to qty in previous version. This list is anyway available in the Transport request itself. In quality system Go to each object's version management from there you can select the version of the object in EHP8 which is the version you need then select retrieve so that the version in EHP8 becomes the active version. As you mentioned there are many objects involved the preferred way is to what is suggested in earlier post creating transport of copies and adding objects and moving them to only qty system.
