When we classify in SAP it happens in the product master. When customs compliance document is created the classification number is not recorded in the document instead it is recorded only in the product master. So in the compliance document we do not have certainty over the HTN codes assigned to the product at the time of transaction. Why is this the case I'm interested in understanding if there's any reasonable business explanation; for instance we do block documents based on HTN code and these must be manually released, there is no historical record of the HTN code classified at the time in SAP standard; we will be looking to customise the system accordingly.
