Hi
I am discovering ABAP with the book "discover ABAP". I´ve downloaded and installed Netweaver ABAP trial 7.03. Thats ok as long as I want to lear ABAP. But I also wanted to see and try production system and here comes a problem - where to download a proper version? Is it ECC 6.0 IDES EHP4? Cos I don´t have permission to enter the SAP market place. Is it free of charge or do I have to pay for such trial version?
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.
Many thanks.
Lukas

Thank you guys!! It´s been very helpful, I´ll try to contact Czech SAP center (I´m from czech rep.) and see what I can get. And final question. In the book I mentioned above - there´s quote that I should instal Minisap. Is it the same as the IDES system (but older I suppose) or sth. else?

Hi Lucas
i am not familiar with the book you mentioned. I know that a very good book that used to be around some time ago called Abap Objects by Mr Horst Keller had the minisap in 2cd's. Minisap is actually the same as the system you are trying to install. (no modules included, only the abap part->ex you will not find tables as MARA,BSEG, COEP etc).
If you are trying to learn ABAP (or some functional modules) the best way to go is through SAP IDES ECC6. It contains as mentioned earlier sap demo scenarios (fully functional) and customizing (and of course all tables mentioned earlier). No wonder that when installed it goes 380gb (ides ehp5). My experience says, it is -BY FAR- the best educational tool for SAP no matter your level (junior-senior or master). SAP has done AMAZING job with it, and can give to each one of us a significant advantage.
Keep in mind ...that installation procedure requires solution manager keys (that means a valid solution manager installation to provide you with one). It is not at all easy to perform.
Keep us posted with your findings.
Hope for the best.
