Hi dear community members

I have a question related to SAP Business One Setup Wizard: While I was trying to install Software Development Kit (SDK) using SAP Business One Setup Wizard, in the Database Server Connection step it shows error: "Failed to connect to server; enter a valid server name, user ID, and password. Verify that you have the SBOCOMMON database and try again." (attached file). I have checked SBOCOMMON database is available. I have restarted SAP B1 server tools also, but problem not solved. Can someone help?

Hi Javokhir_Isroilov

Thanks for bring up the issue, I am also facing the exact same issue with the following versions of SAP B1 HANA. I am trying to upgrade the DB using the windows components and unable to proceed post the DB Details gets populated.

  • SAPB1 HANA SP2411
  • SAPB1 HANA SP2408 (Security) Hotfix 1

When we run the SAP Business One 10 version for SAP HANA Setup Wizard for the Windows component its returning the below error at the Database Server Connection window

"Failed to connect to server; enter a valid server name, user ID, and password. Verify that you have the SBOCOMMON database and try again."

Hi,

Recently, I configured SAP Business One HANA SP2408 (Security) Hotfix 1 for another customer and used the Windows Setup Wizard for DB upgrade as well without any issues. Since the latest SP2411 version caused errors, I decided to use SP2408 for this setup and faced the same error.

I came across a similar post with same error and referred to a recent comment that resolved the issue:

Failed to connect to SAP B1 HANA server - SAP Community

Here's what worked for me:

  • The Setup Wizard functioned correctly when using a Windows Local account, allowing me to successfully upgrade the database.

Following the suggestion in the linked post, I deleted my Domain account's user profile, which was identified as a Temporary profile. This might have been the root cause of the error. I will check with the client to fix the domain profile issue.

I hope this information helps others facing a similar issue.
