SAP Business ByDesign Expense reports in new currency for Bulgaria

Dear experts, 

As of 1st of January 2026 Bulgaria will have a new national currency - Euro. We have a Bulgarian company in Business Bydesign and currently are testing the currency transition. It is done via transitioning to a new company code. 

We encountered an issue with expense reports. The employee for whome the expense report is being created was hired in Personnel Administration for Bulgaria with old currency(BGN), so the reimbursement and settlement amount is automatically  exchanged to BGN in spite of his/her working company (where we have set up EUR currency). The currency of a country is a system setting that we cannot change.

Question is will these system settings of currency for Bulgaria be updated by SAP automatically after 01.01.2026? Or else can we do something about it?

Transfer employees to the new company

All employees must be transferred from the old to the new company. Unfortunately, “fire and re-hire” is the only option. I recommend to define a new termination reason, for example “Reorg” to see the transfers from the old to the new company.


For the Currency of the a coutnry can be changed / Managed in Configuration activties : Countries/Regions

However we encounter issues when changing the currency in Country/Regions because there are already postings (expense reports) with the old Country/currency and I cannot delete it in order to create the new entry for country Bulgaria and currency Euro.
