Sales Order Line-Level MRP Recommendations - SAPB1

Dear Experts,

We have received a requirement from our client regarding the MRP order recommendation process. The client would like MRP recommendations—specifically Purchase Requests (PR) or Purchase Orders (PO) to reflect child part requirements on a per-sales-order-line basis, rather than consolidating demand across multiple sales order lines.

Example Scenario:

In a sales order (SO123) with two line items for the same parent material, where the BOM contains a common child item:

Current behavior: MRP consolidates the total child part requirement (e.g., 30 units for RM1001) and generates a single PR or PO.

Client requirement: MRP should generate two separate recommendations (e.g., 20 units for RM1001/SO123/Line 001 and 10 units for RM1001/SO123/Line 002), maintaining clear traceability to each sales order line.

Hi,

unfortunately you cannot change MRP handling to reflect your need. What you can do is use Procurement Confirmation Wizard instead, where you select documents (Sales Quotation, Sales Order or Production Order) for which procurement must be processed. This will create separate lines for each requirement and will write this information on document lines.
