Sales Kit Products are not supported in consignment process

I have a Kit item which I cannot do a consignment-issue. When I enter the Kit product in a sales order, the item type is filled as Sales Kit - Header which prevents me from selecting consignment issue as "Consignment Issue".

Dear customer, 

Currently, the sales kit products are not supported in ByDesign system. Kindly check the help center document: Customer Consignment

In the Overview, it mentions following statement:

The consignment process in SAP Business ByDesign, supports products with or without batch management (identified stock), with or without Product Requirement Specification (PRS), and serial number managed products. Currently, Kit products are not supported.
