Hello guys,
We have an ECC6 landscape with :
EHP7 FOR SAP ERP 6.0
SAP NetWeaver 7.4
Oracle 19c
Windows Server 2012 R2
We are currently checking what is our best migration option.
My questions are :
1) Are there limitations to have an S/4HANA system installed on a Windows Server 2016 LTSB or 2019 LTSC environment ? What would be the differences with Suse for example and would you recommend to perform an OS migration (from Windows to Suse) before considering to perform an S/4HANA migration ?
2) Would you recommend a greenfield approach if the acceptable downtime does not exceed 2 or 3 days ? Actually we have a small system with a data volumes of 2,7 TB. We would like to keep current data, configuration, and customizations. What would be the best approach to estimate the business downtime ?
3) When is the end of the mainstream maintenance of S/4HANA 2020 ? I found 31.12.2025 in the PAM but it seems strange to me that ECC6 mainstream maintenance ends in 2027 and S/4HANA 2020 in 2025. Maybe the information is not up to date in the PAM.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Dear Admin,
Unfortunately, it seems to be taking longer than usual for your question to be answered. You might want to try an alternative route to speed things up.
Please check if a similar question has already been asked in the Community. We have found that sometimes questions that have been answered before are no longer receiving responses.
The easiest way to do this, is to visit the All Questions page and search for your specific topic.
You could also check the SAP Support Portal and search for SAP Notes, SAP Knowledge Base Articles and more.
If all of this doesn’t work, I would suggest that you create a support ticket. All you need to do is log onto the SAP Support Portal with your S-user ID and password: http://service.sap.com/message
Thanks,
Mozi
