Hi kaya-ya,

In SAP's Business Partner (BP) master data, particularly in the purchasing organization view, “Central Purchasing Block” and “Purchasing Block” serve different purposes and affect procurement processes in distinct ways.

Central Purchasing Block:

This block is applied globally to a Business Partner (BP) across all purchasing organizations.
When the Central Purchasing Block is set, the BP is blocked from procurement activities in any purchasing organization, essentially meaning no purchase orders or procurement-related transactions can be created for that BP across the entire system.
This type of block is managed centrally, and it impacts the vendor at a more comprehensive level.

Purchasing Block:
This block is applied at the level of a specific purchasing organization.
When the Purchasing Block is set, the Business Partner is restricted from procurement activities only within the purchasing organization where the block is set. Other purchasing organizations within the company can still conduct procurement transactions with the same BP if they do not have this block in place.
This block provides more granular control, allowing a BP to be active in some purchasing organizations but restricted in others.

BR Serhii.
