Hi experts,
we are currently migrating a classic ERP 6.0 (EHP8) System to S/4HANA 1809 with a brownfield approach. We are using costing based CO-PA in the old environment for a long time. As SAP recommends to use account based CO-PA with S/4HANA we want to activate it with the migration. We want to use both parallely in the new environment to switch over to account based CO-PA in future. Is there any guidance available about doing that? Are there concerns or experiences doing this? When should account based CO-PA be activated during the migration? Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Dirk

Hi NSK,
thx very much for your quick response. I went through the above notes and it was very helpfull in terms of how to customize AB COPA in S4. As we are currently using only the CB COPA , we have to activate AB COPA. I'm looking for the best time to do so. To prepare for the real S/4HANA upgrade we have copied our Production System to a sandbox System. Currently the upgrade is running on this sandbox to S/4HANA 1809. After the upgrade there are some Customizing activities before datamigration. Would it be good to activate the AB COPA during the Customizing activities. If yes, what are the necessary steps. If not, what would you recommend?
Best Regards,
Dirk
