S/4 HANA Cloud - BAS issue when fiori app is deployed a second time (redeployed)

Hi everyone,

in BAS, when I execute npm run reploy for the second time to deploy an app to S/4 HANA Cloud, I get the following errors:

• Error updating UIADs for UI5 repository Y23PMMAINTREQ2, package Y23PMPKG_MAINT_REQ, transport YVNK900039
• Fiori Launchpad App Descr Item Y23PMMAINTREQ2_UI5R could not be deleted
• error abap-deploy-task Y23PMMAINTREQ2 Failed to update Fiori Launchpad App Descr Item Y23PMMAINTREQ2_UI5R
• Deployment has failed.
  

In Eclipse, if I try to delete the Launchpad App Descriptor Item in the Development Tenant, I get the following error message: "SAP GUI is not supported in project

It seems to me that S/4 HANA Cloud doesn't allow redeployment of apps, for some reason. It doesn't allow to delete Launchpad App Descriptor Items manually.

Has anyone faced a similar issue?

In my situation I had the identical error while working with an on-premise system SAP_BASIS 758. SAP Note 3502480 - UIAD: Redeployment fails resolved the error.

Hi,
for me worked add to ui5-deploy.yaml: builder -> customTasks -> configuration -> target:
....

update-existing: true    <- this parameter

....

Save file.

Again deploy application: npm run build && fiori deploy --config ui5-deploy.yaml && rimraf archive.zip
and then do undeploy: nom run build && fiori undeploy --config ui5-deploy.yaml

Now you should have clean package.

Experiencing the same issue but adding update-existing: true does not work for me.
