S/4 HANA 2022 Maintain Customer Tax (Indirect) Exemption Certificate in BP and Tax Cert Expiry Date

We recently moved into S/4 HANA 2022. We use Vertex for Tax calculation (Indirect-Outbound). We maintain Tax Exemption Certificate in Vertex and Business has to login to Vertex for maintaining and updating the Certificates and generate manual reports on Excel.

We would like to automate the process by using Business partner to allow updating SAP Tax Exemption certifications with dates and attach a digital copy. We want to generate a standard SAP report with certificate expiry dates. Based on the Report we want to send email alerts and updates directly in SAP, so users don’t need the extra system. I would appreciate if anyone can suggest how this can be done in S/4 without custom built solution.

Hi Srivijay52, If you are using Vertex then you might be leveraging Vertex Accelerator. Request you to please review and analyze the Vertex Accelerator tool (add-on) - "FLUX Builder" which is used for creating Exemption Certificate from SAP itself.

The answer provided by Vishal Maheshwari is best option for you. Vertex has many SAP add-on Accelerator plus tools to handle Tax automation problems. Flux Builder is one of the tools that provides an option to update customer tax exemption certificates directly from SAP to Vertex automatically. It not only updates the exemption certificate but also provides inbuild a report within SAP about customers’ exemption status in Vertex.
