RSL issue in MB5M

Hello SAP community and Gurus,

A little while ago i posted on here seeking advise on how to generate my MB5M report to display the remaining shelf-life of material in my warehouse and not just the actual expiration date. I was directed to maintain a storage percentage in the material master. This worked for the most part.

The only issue i have now is that i maintained 100% storage percentage, which is the max. But my RSL date appears to be a few days ahead of what i would expect it to be, calculated from my total shelf-life date.

EXAMPLE - My total shelf-life date is 05/31/2025. I want to pull the material 6months prior to this. So i would like it to display the last day of 11/2024. Instead it is displaying 12/02/2024. I have attached a screen shot depicting this.

Would anybody know what is causing this?

Hi ,

In your case it is calculated as exactly 180 days (6 months) back from 31.05.2025.

Also  the rounding rule  '+' applies for automatic SLED calculation , if you specified total shelf life in the material master. Seems it is not applied for last date calculation. This could be the standard behavior.

will reply if i come across any notes or explanation.

Hello Arjuna, I am having the same issue on a part that i set the total SL for and let SAP calculate the actual SLED. Even though i am manually entering most of the SLEDs, i still need the rounding rule se to the end of the month due to an evaluation check be active at the point of shipping. Without this it blocks orders from posting as soon as the RSL month hits. But we can still ship the material up until the end of the RSL month.
