Hello there,
I'm having trouble gaining details on functionality related to Revenue Accounting and Reporting, specifically the mechanism that triggers revenue recognition. I have a requirement that cannot look to percentage of revenue/cost incurred to drive revenue recognition, rather the progress of a WBS element/milestone being confirmed at complete. By virtue of this, I've ruled out EBRR as each method seemed to rely on the percentage of either cost/revenue.
I've then started to research RAR and the "event-based fulfillment" of performance obligations. (https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/f63dd39a28bb4b90adbf9e608aff58ea/c5ce0b1d7ca34fabb4b...)
In referencing the help document, I've found the information to be vague and not detailed enough to understand if any event-based fulfillment methods will look to WBS elements as a source of information to calculate revenue recognition.
I have two questions, is there someone in our community that has extensive knowledge to RAR, and its methods of calculating revenue in a project based process order. Does SAP have any documents that provide more detail on how these methods work and the accounting entries they drive?
Thanks!
