Dear Experts,
We would like to know if there is a way to restrict authorization to change specific Material master data items (YB-0000 and YP-0000).
We have checked the restrictions for business roles but it seems impossible to allow changes for only certain material master items.
Could you give us some advice on this?
Best Regards,
Fujita

Hello @Kazuhiro_F
In S/4HANA Public, you cannot restrict access by individual material ID (e.g., YB-0000, YP-0000). Instead, public cloud enforces restrictions based on business roles using attributes such as organisation levels, product groups, and material types, rather than specific material numbers. SAP Help-Identity and Access Management-Maintain Business Roles
What is included and what actions you might want to take,
Segment and restrict based on the attribute.
Assign sensitive SKUs to a specific product group or material type, then set Write = Restricted for that attribute in Maintain Business Roles. If you're controlling by product group, make sure the Authorisation Group for the Product Group is properly maintained; otherwise, the restriction will not be enforced. SAP Learning-Defining Restrictions for Business Roles
Lock the product master (blanket lock).
In Manage Product Master, use Product Master is locked to prevent edits; you can mass-apply via product maintenance. If you don’t see the checkbox, add the missing catalogue noted in the KBA.SAP Help-Master Data-Locking Product Master Fields
Use governance or workflow if approvals are needed.
For change approvals and audit trail, route edits through SAP Master Data Governance, cloud edition (change request workflow). SAP Master Data Governance, Cloud Edition FAQ
With best regards

AFAIK you cannot for individual material id.
Check blogs such as How to restrict access to material types and material groups in SAP S4 HANA using authorization objects M_MATE_MAR (Material Master: Material Types) and M_MATE_WGR (Material Master: Material Groups). Consier creation of some specific group for those items?
