Restrict schedule lines based on maximum partial deliveries mentioned in sales order line

Hello SD Experts,

We have a business requirement to restrict the schedule lines as per the "Max. part. delv."(this field will have the number of maximum deliveries created) for the sales order line.

Suppose the "max. part. delv." = 3 in the sales order line then the expectation is to restrict the schedule lines to either 3 lines or less than 3 so that we can achieve maximum of only 3 deliveries created. But as the sales order line is getting confirmed via AATP- Product Allocation which is quota managed(date wise) and if it gets confirmed with more than 3 quota then it will create more than 3 schedule lines and it will not be possible to adhere the business requirement and the delivery will not be created for more than 3 schedules.

If anyone has came across this kind of requirement then please let me know if there is a std. fit or what approach to take.

Thanks in advance!

Your understanding is wrong. For one schedule line, you can create partial deliveries as long as stock is made available, in which case, you will have multiple deliveries for one schedule line. Nevertheless, what is the Business requirement ? Is it to restrict partial deliveries or number of deliveries ?
