  • Current Logic: In the current workflow, if an approver at Level 10 rejects a PR, the entire workflow restarts from the beginning.
  • New Requirement: Management requires the ability for an approver (e.g., Level 10) to reject the PR and have the workflow restart at a specific prior level (e.g., Level 5) rather than restarting the entire process from the beginning.

Hello customer, 

In the standard process, you can only define whether the current step should restart or not after rejection. In the Exception Handling section of the Manage Workflows for Purchase Requisitions app, the options available for 'Action Result' are:

  • Cancel workflow - the entire workflow will be cancelled
  • Continue – the approval process goes to the next level, irrespective of the decision at that level
  • Repeat step – the same step is triggered again
  • Restart workflow – it re-triggers the workflow from the beginning

You can also implement custom conditions to trigger specific steps based on your needs using the BAdIs mentioned in KBA 2767845.
