Resource Demand API and Resource Supplies with Scope Item 1KC

We're trying to integrate an External Resource (create/update a planned and staffed resource) using the Resource Demand API (A_EngmntProjRsceDmndType) and Resource Supplies (A_EngmntProjRsceSupType) with Scope Item 1KC.

The team have been successful in creating a requested resource on a customer project using the A_EngmntProjRsceDmndType API but not been able to staff the resource

KBA Note 2917690 - Integrating an External Resource (Staffing) Management with SAP S/4 Hana Cloud however states that the setting cannot be activated if you have activated Advance Resource Management (Scope Item 1KC)

Is there possibly another way we can try in getting the resource staffed on a project without having to deactivate the scope item 1KC

Hi Theresa,

External staffing is a resource management scenario that does not utilize S4HC scope items for staffing. If external staffing is activated, 2MV and 1KC cannot be used. As you mentioned, as per KBA Note 2917690, it is not possible to activate external staffing if 1KC has already been activated. Please create an incident with SAP support in case there is any other option that can be considered.
