Yes, reservation comes againts planned order (in case of Rep manufacturing) and production orders (in discreate manufacturing)
fro exampel when you create production orders, then all dependent requirements (requireemnts for the compoenents maintain in BOM and which requires to produce finish assembly) will be converted into "<b>reservations"</b> automatically.
you can dispaly this from COOIS transaction as well as from MB25.
