Request for Guidance on Activating Standard Retail Merchandise Management Roles

Hello,

The partner contact for my customer is seeking advice regarding standard roles and authorization objects for SAP S/4HANA Retail for Merchandise Management (SAP S/4HANA Cld for Ret merch, priv ed 8008751). The customer, is aiming to use purely retail management roles without triggering Advanced FUE classifications. Currently, some objects in their manual configuration are causing tech engine users to be classified as advanced, and the goal is to create pure retail roles without Advanced FUE by excluding advanced authorization objects.

They referred to the standard roles listed in the SAP help documentation for SAP S/4HANA Retail for merchandise management. However, these roles are not appearing in the system as listed in the guide as per the customer. The partner mentioned that during implementation, roles were activated via Rapid Activation. Their suggestion was to activate the standard roles mentioned in the guide using Rapid Activation, then assign them to a test user to verify that they do not require an advanced user or tech classification and are sufficient for daily tasks.

Could anyone share insights on the following?

Is Rapid Activation the recommended method to activate these retail module standard roles?

What are the best practices to ensure that the activated roles avoid advanced FUE classifications?

Are there additional checks or adjustments needed after activation to guarantee they meet the daily operational requirements for the retail module?

What is the recommended approach to filter out Advanced FUE objects when creating custom roles via Rapid Activation?
