Repetitive Mfg production line or workcenter

Hi All,

We are testing REM scenario,in that even if I use workcenter category 0001(machine) or 0007 (production line) results are same for cositng,accounting etc,so why it is recommended to use 0007 category in REM.

Cause even in MF50 we can see same results either we use 0001 or 0007 in production version of material.

Hello,

Functionally there is no difference, in transaction OP13 or OPFA, the screen and field selection are set for each work center category. In transaction OP40 (Maintain Work Center Category), you set the reference for screen sequence and field selection to the work center categories previously maintained so that the settings become effective. You can use 0001 as well as 0007 in REM too.

Hi,

Basically workcenter category decides the capacity. The category defines the activity type for costing and scheduling the categories mainly.

For a period of time if there are no much changes we generally prefer production line, and if there are much changes in the production we prefer activity type for individual order which we call production order.
