Hi All,
In AFAB of new asset accounting, there is no more option to perform a repeat run. Can anyone please advise if it is possible to re-rerun the depreciation posting run?
Thanks!

Hi joseaaronlim
You might want to check on the simplification list for S/4HANA
https://help.sap.com/doc/e8f908b4892d44ad90e8c582b0cd1866/2020/en-US/SIMPL_OP2020.pdf
Refer to section 10.2.19, it clearly explains how the depreciation run in S/4HANA works.
The system will read the planned values and posts the journal entries. If there is a change in planned value, if you have already done the posting run, you can run it again and the posting will be only for the changed planned value

Thanks for your response! I might be missing some vital information here. In classic asset accounting, what triggers/qualifies a repeat run? What changes need to happen to asset/asset values? Based on the file you shared to me, the system should be able to identify if it is being run for the 1st time or a repeat run. So how do I trigger a repeat run?
Hi joseaaronlim
I will provide a simple example. You have posted depreciation for a period. Before you close the period, a plant manager informs your asset accountant that a certain machine had an unplanned maintenance and additional depreciation should be posted due to break down. You will post this as unplanned depreciation. When you run AFAB again, there would be a check if there are assets which have depreciation, which has not been posted and the system would create journal entries for the depreciation for this specific asset only. So you just need to run depreciation transaction AFAB again. You can test this in a dev/test enviornment before executing in Production.

Hi Josef,
In New Asset Accounting the options of Planning Posting Run, Repeat, Restart and Unplanned posting run are no more available. These options have been removed for simplification purpose.
However you can go ahead, maintain the required parameters on AFAB screen and execute again. This would provide a similar functionality in line with Repeat and Restart.
