We are helping customer to migrate system to S4HC public edition. However, customer has own set of CoA, number range and account group requirements. Since public edition has predefined the chart of accounts and account group assignment, can experts recommend which approach is better in this situation? What is the pros and cons? Any other workaround that can minimize the maintenance effort?
1. disable all predefined GL accounts and renumber them to new accounts
2. create a new set of CoA as alternative CoA

Hi Connie,
I would recommend you to renumber the accounts instead of using alternative Chart of Accounts. The main advantage of renumbering the YCOA is the new g/l account IDs will be updated automatically in account determination. However, please consider restrictions of renumbering g/l accounts which is only possible before first postings in the test system (assuming you are having 3SL).
For more information, please find the Chart of Accounts Configuration - Overview.pptx (SAP Customer) accelerator on Roadmap Viewer.
Kind regards
Johannes
