dear Experts,

currently we have release strategy define in our sanbox i am trying to define new release strategy with new characteretics and new codes with new class and new cpombinations (seperate then from existing release configuration witrh same sandbox)

the Question is i dont want to touch existing setting of the release means i want to create new class type as i know the current for PR is 032

Q1 can i create new class and assign new char with codes to that class (other then 032) ??

Q2 is there a procedure to create new release strategy with diffrent charactestics without touching exisitng one

as the process for release strategy is

Dfine characterstics

Define Class

assign char to class

assign class to release group

create codes

create indicators

make a combination of all above for release strategy

thnaks for your response

HI

You can create your own characteristics but it is not possible to create new class. For relesae strategy it is 032

You create new char & have to assign it to the same class

Hi

You cannot create new class type,032 is provided standard and you need to use it.However you can create new Class but that too in PR.In PO you cannot define new Class. In PR you can define but there also your existing class will have overall release then you can define new class for itemwise Release. You cannot have 2 Rel Classes assigned to the Release Group. The system will give an error if you try to do so.

Regarding new Rel Strategy you can create new one but there you need to ensure that you are not conflicting the existing Rel Strategy.

You can create your own "CLASS" and "CHARACTERISTICS"

It is always advised to assign CLASS to class type 032...

Then only it work cause the behavior is hardcoded...
