Release strategy is not getting Trigerred for Multiple Plants in PO.

Dear gurus,

I have a Release strategy which is working Fine when I create a PO with Same Plant in line items.

But My release strategy is not getting trigerred when I have Different Plants in Line items.

I have Maintained all the Plants in the characteristic Values of Plant.

Why does the RS work for Single Plant & doesn't work for Multiple Plants in the same PO.

Is there any SAP Note applicable to this? Pl Suggest.

release startegy should be creatd on header level fields only becuase if you create it at item level field and in po if you maintian multiple line item then system send blank value in the communication structure as sytem gets so many values and gets confused and not able to decide which one to be send

so it does nto block the po

please use header level field in release strategy try if purchase group can be used to map

Dear Rahul,

The RS is at header level only.I also have Pur Groups as one of the Characteristic.I have Plant as one of the charcteristic in which I have maintained all the plant Values.Hence to trigger the RS all the Characteristic values get Fulfilled still RS is not Trigerred.

i got your point but i will again say the same thing that for item level field system is not able to block the po if there are multiple line item in RS and that too with different values against same char as system picks only 1 value and it sends that value in RS to cross check wheteher this po needs to be blocked or not .

now in your case system is getting multiple values against 1 field that is plant so now system is not able to send 1 in backend and hence it sends blank value in back end so system dosent blocks the po

even if you use material group or any other item level field system is going to behave that way only that is it will not be blocking the po

apart from maintaining all plants in characteristics value maintain one single entry without plant code.

this will solve your problem.

Hi,

SAP standard do not provide Release strategy for multiple plants in one PO.

If you will enter multiple plants in PO, RS will not be affected.

Hi,

There is a workaround to get the RS triggered if multiple plants are used in 1 po.

1. Create a characteristics value of plant w/o any plant code

2. Assign that charateristics to Classification of the particular RS.

The RS will trigger for the scenario.

If PO want to trigger RS with two different plant in same po you need to remove plant character in CL02.

please check once.
